About Us

James H. Schatt created Schatt Construction in 1975, and has been a General Contractor in the Ocala Market ever since.

James and his wife Becky settled in Ocala because they thought it would be a wonderful place to raise their family and enjoy their love for animals. Becky and Jamie have two children. Their daughter, Havens, has become one of the top Hunter/Jumper riders and trainers in the country based out of Wellington, Florida and Lexington, Kentucky. Their son, Ted, has become a successful attorney in Central Florida specializing in Construction Law. Becky is a Real Estate Broker specializing in farms and prestigious properties.

From Pole barns to Multi-million dollar estates to Commercial building, Schatt Construction has built structures to suit their client's needs, desires, and taste.

James has a love of all sports and the Thoroughbred horses, but his real passion lies in the construction industry and seeing client's dreams and ideas come to fruition. He credits the success of Schatt Construction to the individual owners and employees who have been involved in the process over the last 30 years.
